4th Annual Urszula Marciniak Memorial

This open logic puzzle championship is organized  by The Foundation of Wroclaw Mathematicians and the Department of Mathematics of Wroclaw University in collaboration with Logi Publishing House. Its goal is to commemorate and continue the mission of Urszula Marciniak - to promote logic thinking and culture of mathematics.

Winners grouped in the following categories "middle school",  "high school" and "adult" may compete in the Polish National Logic Puzzles Championship organized by Fundację Rozwoju Matematyki Rekreacyjnej Sfinks and are allowed to bypass the online qualification process.

Winners of Polish National Championship compete in World  Puzzle Championship organized by World Puzzle Federation.

In 2020 there will be an additional edition of the Memorial in Warsaw,  hosted by High School José Martí no. 22.

About the organizers:

Małgorzata Mikołajczyk - Author of the memorial, alumna of High School no. 14 in Wroclaw and Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Wroclaw University.

 Director of Didactics of Mathematics Department of Wroclaw University and chief editor of the Wroclaw Mathematics Portal (link: http://www.matematyka.wroc.pl/). She collaborates with the Foundation of Wroclaw Mathematicians and organizes many competitions and science events in the region (link: http://www.matematyka.wroc.pl/konkursy/inne).

Iwona Gruszecka - alumna of High School no. 1 in Klodzko and Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Wroclaw University.

At school she discovered her passion for teaching.  She loves geometry problems and sharing her love for math with others. After a period of teaching in several middle schools in Wroclaw she moved to Warsaw,  where she now teaches at High School no. 45 ( link http://www.twardagim.edu.pl/). She still actively collaborates with the Foundation of Wroclaw Mathematicians and thanks to this collaboration the Memorial is now being organized in Warsaw.  

All puzzle lovers and enthusiasts are welcome to participate. We also encourage clubs,  schools,  cultural centers and other organizations to participate as well.
